Z-Flashing

A type of metal flashing bent into a ‘Z’ shape that’s used to divert water away from horizontal joints, such as between a deck and a wall. Example: To prevent water damage to the connecting wall, the builder installed Z-flashing along the top edge of the newly built wooden deck.
