X-Section

A cross-section drawing that shows the interior of an object as if it has been sliced in half. This is commonly used in building construction to illustrate details of the interiors of walls, floors, and other structural elements. Example: The X-section of the wall assembly was used to show the insulation layers and pipe placements during the client presentation.
